This was taken in the early part of the year. It is rare that Lucy is has a long leash attached around the house. Can’t remember why she has the leash but probably a large tractor is out mowing the field. Lucy sticks her tongue out in this photo probably because she wants to run alongside the tractor.

Lucy knows we are about to leave for an outing and wants to go. Lucy does not want to leave the area around the car because she would like to go as well.

Lucy first met Miko in November 2010. See Photo. The atmosphere between the two is much different now. Lucy has met Miko many times and Lucy has put on about 40 pounds since the first meeting. Lucy outgrew the blue harness as seen in previous photo. It is amazing to look at the blue harness now and to think Lucy somehow fit into it.

A bull broke loose from a local farm and then traveled onto our land to graze. When I walked out from the front door and walked into our field unknowingly,  I laid eyes on the bull I was very surprised to see such an animal. I was already a sizable distance away from the house and probably could not run back. The bull was very aggressive and appeared as if it wanted to charge me. Sparky next to me gave chase to the bull across the field as it fled from the bark of Sparky.

The bull did run away from Sparky as Sparky gave chase across field into the next. The bull did not return.

Sparky passed away next day during sleep. But the day before Sparky chased a bull and the bull ran away. Sparky lived to 16 years old- maybe 17 years.

We adapted Sparky from the local pound when he was between 1-2 years old. The previous family gave up on ‘Sparky’ (previous alias unknown) because he could get along with cats.

These two photos are Sparky’s last. He is late 16- maybe 17 years old. The bottom photo helps shows the field Sparky chased the Bull across.
